There are many different types of workout, but the most common type is leg exercises. Leg exercises are used to build muscle, especially for those who have weak or small muscles. A good way to think about this type of exercise is that it strengthens the quads for your walkers, runners, jumpers and other athletes. This includes sit-ups with an incline bench. Leg exercises are also used in rehabilitation after an injury or surgery.
The body is made up mainly of muscle. Muscle is the tissue that allows you to move your body. Muscle tissue can be either large, small, or normal sized. Leg muscles are also known as the quadriceps, hamstrings or just quads. There are many types of leg exercises that can be done to strengthen them under different circumstances.
A leg workout can be broken down into these 3 types:
1. Strength Training Exercises (or weight) training exercises are often used for building muscle; however they also include cardio to burn fat and increase stamina for sports participation. A weight training workout routine will be different for each person. There are numerous ways to do squats, lunges, leg presses or other similar exercises.
2. Stretch Exercises (or stretching) involves stretching your muscles by creating force (usually done by moving the muscle or limb further than it normally can go). The goal of stretch exercises is to get the muscle to relax and get flexible enough to move past its previous limits.
3. Aerobic Exercise (or cardio) includes many different activities that get your heart and lungs working faster and harder (like running, walking, cycling and swimming).
