During interviews, there are common questions that the interviewers would not miss to ask and one of them is your weakness. It is important to know why the interviewer wants to know your weakness. These are the reasons;
The interviewer wants to know your emotional intelligence, saying that you are a perfectionist or you work hard will not earn you any points. This can be a stressful question during the interview. This question only tries to examine your potential to handle challenges and stressful situations.
Do not mention the weakness that is against the job requirement, for example, don’t say you don’t like traveling and the job description requires you to travel from one branch to another.
Always show an interviewer what you have done to overcome your weakness.
For example, let’s say you are applying for a “Project manager job” and the interviewer asked about your weakness, this is what you can say;
“My greatest weakness is that in most cases, I focus so much on details of a given project and spend more time analysing the main points. I have been striving to improve in this area by checking in with myself every time I find myself in the same situation . I realised that i need to focus on a bigger picture.This way will help me to ensure quality and getting away with productive work within a given deadline.”
